Learning to drive here
Driving lessons around Belmont
Inside Belmont, many streets are described as quiet with cul-de-sacs and limited through-traffic. Our instructors often use these calmer pockets for first lessons, where you can focus on steering, speed control, simple intersections and U-turns without heavy traffic. The mix of modern housing and acreage lots means you will also learn to watch for cars reversing from longer driveways, turning trailers and horse floats, and occasional larger vehicles moving slowly on narrower local roads.
Belmont’s semi-rural feel sits between Wynnum Road to the north and Old Cleveland Road to the south. That makes it easy to move from quieter streets to a major east–west arterial when your skills develop. On Old Cleveland Road, our instructors can introduce multi-lane traffic, higher speeds and busier intersections, including conditions around Belmont State School at school times. As you progress further, nearby Gateway Motorway access allows carefully planned sessions on high-speed merges and lane discipline for more experienced learners.
