Our instructors often begin with simple turns and low‑speed control on these residential roads, then add hill starts, managing speed on descents and using the right gear for the slope. This helps you get comfortable with driveways on inclines, parked cars on bends and reading sight lines where the road drops away or crests, all in familiar neighbourhood surroundings.
Main ridgeline roads such as Simpsons Road, Macgregor Terrace and Boundary Road carry bus routes towards the CBD and form part of the Metroad 5 corridor linking Bardon with Ashgrove, Toowong and Paddington. Our instructors use these roads when you are ready to step up from back‑street driving to busier traffic with changing gradients, intersections and lane choices. You can also experience how school‑zone traffic around Bardon State School, Rainworth State School and St Joseph’s School affects speeds and observation, and how recreational trips towards the Mount Coot‑tha Park interface add cyclists and unfamiliar drivers to the mix.
