On the road in Ashgrove
Ashgrove’s hilly, leafy streets are useful for early lessons that focus on car control without too much traffic. Residential gradients and undulating terrain make it a natural place to practise smooth hill starts, low‑speed manoeuvres and speed control on slopes. Many local streets also have parked cars and narrower carriageways, so you learn early to position the car correctly and scan for driveways, pedestrians and changing sight lines as you move away from the main roads.
Once basic skills are in place, our instructors can introduce Waterworks Road and Jubilee Terrace as key corridors for more advanced practice. These routes bring in multi‑lane traffic, intersections and frequent buses, which help you work on lane discipline, gap selection and bus interactions at your own pace. Enoggera Road towards Newmarket adds experience with CBD‑bound traffic and turning near shops. When conditions are unsuitable or too busy for your level, we shift back to nearby residential connectors until you are ready to step up again.
