Robertson is described as almost entirely residential, which suits those first hours behind the wheel. Our instructors use local streets to build basic control, observation and turning habits at lower speeds, with plenty of practice watching driveways and intersections. The gentle undulation from the basalt-capped, sandstone-underlain ground can make you more aware of how the car feels over minor rises and dips, without adding too much complexity to early lessons.
Once you are comfortable in internal streets, the suburb’s boundary roads help you step up a level. Mains Road along the eastern edge and Kessels Road to the north bring heavier, multi-lane traffic and more complex merging and turning decisions. McCullough Street and Troughton Road frame the south and west, showing how quieter residential streets meet busier corridors. Our instructors choose times and sections of these roads to match your confidence, so you adjust to changing traffic without feeling rushed.
