Our instructors use this forest–university–cemetery precinct to move you steadily from gentler local roads to busier arterials, so each lesson feels manageable while still adding new skills.
Much of Nathan is taken up by Toohey Forest Park and Mt Gravatt Cemetery, so it feels different from a typical residential suburb. Our instructors plan lessons that make the most of forest‑edge roads, internal access streets and nearby residential pockets, giving you practice with gradients, curves and limited sight lines without jumping straight into heavier traffic. This helps new learners settle their steering, braking and observation before tackling more complex environments.
Griffith University’s Nathan campus on Kessels Road is a major landmark and an important part of local driving. Arterial roads around the campus carry student, bus and general traffic, with more people crossing and vehicles turning into campus drives. Our instructors use this area to build skills in gap selection, pedestrian awareness and turning into busier entrances, once you are ready to handle multi‑lane traffic and more decision‑making.
Practising near Toohey Forest Park, you work on speed control through curves, watching for wildlife and adjusting to changing light and sight lines on hilly sections.
Around Griffith University on Kessels Road, our instructors help you read signals, handle buses and select safe gaps for turns into campus drives.
Using roads close to Mt Gravatt Cemetery and Salisbury, you practise low‑speed manoeuvres, turning at local intersections and moving between quieter and busier environments.
Greenslopes is the nearest practical-test-capable option in the current road-distance calculation at about 5.5 km by road. It is not an official assignment, and learners may book any suitable centre.
