Capalaba is the commercial heart of the Redlands, so it is busier than the bayside suburbs, and that makes it a genuinely useful place to learn. Beginners usually start on the quieter residential streets to get the basics sorted, then step up to the main roads once the nerves settle.

The arterials do the heavy lifting here. Old Cleveland Road, Moreton Bay Road and Redland Bay Road carry the through-traffic, and the roundabouts and car parks around the Capalaba Central and Capalaba Park shopping centres give you plenty of stop-start practice. When you are ready, Finucane Road and the Capalaba to Cleveland run give you a straightforward drive to the test centre.
