Start with quiet turns and gentle grades near Oxley Creek, getting used to steering, lane position and basic observation without heavy traffic demands.
Practise lane changes, traffic lights and turning into busier strips along Oxley Road and Blunder Road once you are ready for more decision-making.
Use Seventeen Mile Rocks Road to experience different traffic flows, speed changes and light industrial vehicles while keeping conditions suitable for your stage.
Sherwood is the nearest practical-test-capable option in the current road-distance calculation at about 4.7 km by road. It is not an official assignment, and learners may book any suitable centre.

Oxley’s low-lying terrain near the river and creek can mean wetter road surfaces at times. Our instructors monitor conditions, avoid any flooded or unsafe areas and reschedule if heavy weather would distract from safe learning.
Motorway driving is usually reserved for later stages. Around Oxley, our instructors can focus first on suburban arterials and local streets, then introduce Ipswich Motorway segments only when you’re ready and it fits your goals.
