Learning to drive here
Getting started in Meadowbrook
Meadowbrook’s mixed-use character means your practice drives can feel quite different within a short distance. Around the hospital, TAFE and Griffith University Logan campus, our instructors can help you manage busy weekday movements, frequent turning traffic and pedestrians looking for parking or drop-off points. At other times, these same streets can be calmer, which is useful for early lessons focused on scanning, lane positioning and smooth braking without constant pressure from higher traffic volumes.
The Loganlea Road and Logandowns Drive corridor around Meadowbrook Shopping Centre is the suburb’s key retail and access spine, so it is a natural step once you are comfortable on quieter roads. Here you can work on judging gaps for turning, indicating early near driveways and handling vehicles entering and leaving parking areas. Active development along the Loganlea Road frontage means our instructors also coach you to read temporary signs, adjust for changing lane markings and stay alert for trucks and site access points.
