Learning to drive here
Getting started in Heathwood
Heathwood’s industrial and logistics precinct around the Logan Motorway gives learners early exposure to how freight shapes local driving. Our instructors plan lessons so you notice truck movements, wider turning paths and changing lane patterns as you gain confidence, not on your very first drive. The Logan Motorway access and corridor near the Stapylton Road and Blunder Road intersection becomes a useful later-stage focus for checking mirrors, judging gaps and understanding how limited entry points affect local traffic flow.
Away from the motorway edge, parts of Heathwood are described as small, leafy and residential, with a park, sporting field and playground helping to anchor local back-street driving. Our instructors often use these residential pockets for starting, stopping and basic turning before heading towards the busier edges. As you progress, nearby neighbours such as Forest Lake and Pallara, and practical references like Pallara State School, make it easy to expand your navigation skills and experience different traffic rhythms around the outer south-west Brisbane fringe.
