On the road in Gaythorne

Our instructors often begin in calmer pockets close to home, where the mix of post-war houses, Queenslanders and newer apartments means plenty of driveways and parked cars to work around. This helps you get comfortable with lane position, scanning for vehicles reversing, and choosing safe gaps before we add more complex situations.
Around Gaythorne railway station on the Ferny Grove line, traffic, pedestrians and parking movements are more concentrated, so lessons here focus on approach speeds, observation and low speed control. As you progress, our instructors may use nearby streets to practise turning near pedestrian crossings, managing pick-up and drop-off activity, and adjusting for changes from quieter residential roads to busier areas. Planned park ’n’ ride changes mean this part of Gaythorne can feel different over time, which is helpful for learning to adapt rather than rely on routine.
