Learning to drive here
On the road in Cornubia
Inside Cornubia, leafy residential streets and cul-de-sacs are useful for the early stages of driving. Our instructors can focus on basic steering, smooth stopping and checking for pedestrians where traffic is usually lighter. Bushland and semi-rural pockets mean you also learn to watch visibility, drive past vegetation close to the road and scan for wildlife, all at lower speeds before adding more complex situations.
Once you are ready for more activity, the Bryants Road and Beenleigh–Redland Bay Road intersection near Cornubia Shopping Centre offers plenty to practise. With through-traffic and turning vehicles, our instructors can introduce safe gap selection, lane changes and entering driveways without rushing. Nearby, larger car parks and surrounding streets help refine parking, judging space and dealing with short trips in and out of the centre, always avoiding any unsafe congestion.
