That usually means local trips, parked cars and people moving around playgrounds, which is ideal for early practice in low‑speed car control, observation and decision‑making. Our instructors can start you in these calmer pockets so you get used to moving off, indicating, checking mirrors and judging gaps before we add busier sections near community facilities or shops.
Along the Brighton Esplanade foreshore, the Flinders Parade coastal road and Decker Park area bring together water views, parked cars, walkers and cyclists. This is valuable for practising speed control, lane position and hazard perception around a shared‑use environment, especially when wind can nudge the car or affect visibility. As you progress, our instructors may use these stretches to teach you how to manage crosswinds, adjust following distances and safely enter or leave car parks near the waterfront.
