The most experienced and calmest driving instructor you'll ever find. Alan taught both our sons how to drive and they loved him. Both have become very competent drivers in a manual car thanks to him. Alan is friendly, explains things clearly to the driver so they understand, he is very thorough, and extremely good at his job. If you're looking to teach your child how to drive a manual car , Then Alan is definitely your man. There is no better. 10/10 .. I can highly recommend him

My 2 sons have both had Alan to prepare for their manual driving licences in 2021 and 2023. 5 lessons each with Alan and both passed test first time. Both kids chalk and cheese and are both battlers so if he can get my lads through then he can do yours. Have one more kid to go and will use Alan again. Absolutely 100% thoroughly recommend. Mark
Personally, Allan is an exceptional person who has reasonable level of patience and stoicism.
He does not overly spoon-feed or nag you throughout which is a relief - he allows you to find and fix your mistakes along the way.
However if there is a case of uncertainty, Allan does his best to explain it to you in the most clear-cut way possible that even the smallest and most sensitive minds can understand...not saying that I am under those extremes.
Anyhow if you need a manual driver to teach, train and supervise you, Allan is your go-to. Also, his British-ness may compel you to articulate and posture correctly along the ride.

Alan was so patient with me whilst I was unlearning all my bad habits I had acquired as an auto open licence driver so I could pass my manual drivers test! I genuinely feel I have become a safe driver since taking lessons with him. Could not have done it without him
Ethan passed his driving exam on Tuesday. Which was also his 18th birthday. The examiner praised his knowledge and skill and was very impressed with his driving.
I just wanted to say thanks to you. You have taught both my children to drive and as a parent I feel much safer with them out on the road alone, knowing the skill level they have.
So thank you so very much for doing what you do, you make the roads safer and parents a little less stressed.

I was days into my breakup when I had the first of my 2 mock tests before my driving test. My first lesson (manual) I couldn't count from 1-4. 3 days later I test. IF IT WAS NOT FOR ALAN I WOULD HAVE FAILED. He was understanding, gentle, firm and patient. The universe sends me lots of blessings these days and Alan from Metro Driving was one of them.
