On the road in Woody Point
Woody Point’s quiet residential streets with parks are helpful for early lessons when you are still settling into the car. Our instructors can use these local roads for simple turns, kerb pulls and basic manoeuvres, while pointing out how different housing styles, driveways and parked cars affect what you can see. With most traffic being local and activity clustering around recreation areas, it is a practical place to learn how everyday suburban conditions change from one block to the next.
Along the waterfront parks and green spaces, Woody Point learners can safely practise low-speed driving, scanning and parking when conditions suit. The busy coastal foreshore and recreation traffic brings walkers, cyclists, anglers and visitors, so our instructors focus on hazard perception and giving space near shared-use areas. At the Woody Point Jetty and surrounding waterfront and jetty precinct, lessons can include judging gaps, turning near popular destinations and managing concentration when the view and activity pull attention away from the road.
