Learning to drive in Margate
Across Margate’s residential streets, the flat terrain and local homes make a good base for early lessons. You can concentrate on basic steering, braking and simple turns without dealing with steep hills. Holiday accommodation and newer development mean there may be extra parked cars or occasional construction nearby, so our instructors help you read the road, scan for hazards and choose suitable times and blocks for practising manoeuvres like kerbside stops and three-point turns.
Along Margate Parade and the Margate Beach foreshore, learners start to experience a different kind of driving. Here you will see beach parking, people crossing to the sand and changing traffic across the day. Our instructors use this corridor to build your observation and speed control, then gradually introduce Oxley Avenue and Victoria Avenue so you learn to handle main suburban routes, turning traffic and varied speed environments while staying within familiar surroundings.
