Getting started in Landsborough
The upgraded Glass House Mountains Road (Steve Irwin Way) and Caloundra Street intersection is the most obvious place to build intersection practice. Learners will need to read signals, watch for pedestrians and manage turns in a controlled but busy setting. That suits newer drivers who are ready to move beyond empty streets but still need structure. Nearby centre-zoned and specialised-centre land along Caloundra Street can also mean more access driveways, larger vehicles and different stopping patterns, so our instructors can choose routes that help learners notice what changes around them.
Landsborough also gives learners a broader local picture to work with. Being just off Steve Irwin Way, and near the town centre, means trips can include tourist-route traffic, station-area reference points and streets that feel more mixed-use than residential-only areas. The Landsborough Community Building on Tunnel Ridge Road, the museum and heritage walk near the station, and the caravan park on Glasshouse Mountains Tourist Road all provide named landmarks that help with wayfinding and pickup discussions. The terrain around the base of the Blackall Range can also add gentle variety on approach roads, which is useful once a learner is ready for more than flat local blocks.
