Learning to drive here
On the road in Kippa-Ring
Kippa-Ring’s role as the commercial centre of the Redcliffe Peninsula means you will quickly get used to higher traffic volumes, more turning movements and frequent parking manoeuvres around shopping areas. Our instructors can use sections near Kippa-Ring Shopping Centre and other car‑based retail strips once you are ready for more advanced practice, focusing on scanning for pedestrians, handling queues into drive‑throughs and managing speed as you move between main roads and complex car parks at different times of day.
Anzac Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue are key multi‑lane arterials through Kippa-Ring, so they are ideal for later lessons on lane positioning, smooth approaches to signals and right‑turn decisions in heavier traffic. Around the Anzac Avenue and Boardman Road intersection, and the upgraded Elizabeth Avenue intersections at George Street and Miller Street, our instructors can help you read complex traffic flows, pick safe gaps and stay aware of pedestrians without rushing, using the suburb’s mostly gentle grades to focus on observation rather than hill starts.
